February 6, 2026
Good Morning Parents,
We had our Semester 1 Awards Ceremony yesterday and recognized students for so many outstanding things they did in the first half of the year. Students received awards for displaying our core values, outstanding class performance, and we recognized students with 4.0 GPAs and perfect attendance. The biggest award we
give out each semester is the Lion of the Semester. The winners for the first semester were:
9th Grade: Jaiden Sanchez
10th Grade: Aiyana Benning
11th Grade: Allisson Moreno Alvarez
12th Grade: Marie Santoyo Maciel
Congratulations to all nominees and award winners!
We are now into Semester 2 in the high school and students are settling into good routines. All grades start over in Semester 2 so it is a great opportunity for all students to start fresh in all of their classes. One of the biggest factors in student success is attendance-please make sure they are here every day and on time.
A few important events will be occurring this month:
2026-2027 class selection is occurring the week of February 23rd
2026-2026 enrollment is ongoing! Choice re-enrollment applications are due now. Remember to submit both the online application and your proof of residency documents by February 20th. Need assistance? Register for help at augprep.org/choicehelp
Additionally, we do want to stop and recognize that there are many things impacting our community right now. If your family needs support, our Family Team is available to help connect you with resources and can best be reached at familypartners@augprep.org.
We are always open and available for your questions so please do not hesitate to reach out if you need anything at all regarding your student. Their advisor is a great point of contact and I can also be best reached through email at jwallace@augprep.org. I always welcome your feedback and the opportunity to connect.
With much respect,
Mr. Wallace

Students have many choices for courses-please begin talking with your student about courses they would like to select for next year that align with the post-secondary plans. Course preferences will be finalized in early March.

Grade Updates: Students can access their grades at all times on Schoology. We send a formal notice to students every two weeks if they are passing all of their courses or failing a course. Parents will receive a notification from Kinvo if their student is failing 3 or more classes. Advisors and teachers want your student to be successful so please reach out if you have any questions on your student’s academic progress.
Contacting Teachers: If you need to get in touch with your student’s teacher you can email them directly from this page.
Parent Communication: If you need to reach your student please call Aug Prep and request to speak to your student. If they need to reach you they are able to come to the high school office at any time and call you from our phone.
Uniform Reminder: Reminder that uniform skirts for girls must be at least 2 inches or less from their knees. Communication will be made to students and parents if it is shorter than 2 inches and the student will be sent home. Alternatives to this is a student can wear leggings or tights under their skirt if needed. Additionally, Ugg slippers and any other slippers are not part of the uniform. Please ensure that your student arrives at school in full uniform to avoid receiving infractions. Please communicate with Ms. Garcia if you have any questions.
Detention Schedule: We will run detentions once a month. They will run from 3:30pm till 5pm. Parents will be notified of the detention in advance. The dates for detentions are: February 24, March 31, April 28, May 26.

To help spread the excitement, we’re also hosting an online show store where you can snag a Little Mermaid long-sleeve tee, short-sleeve tee, or cozy hoodie. Students can wear their show shirt on Wednesday out-of-uniform days to show support for our talented cast and crew while helping promote the performances.
