Dr. Danelle Yocco, originally from Puerto Rico, has been a member of the Augustine Prep community since 2024. She moved to Milwaukee in 2013 and brings with her a strong background in Medicine and Microbiology Technology. Dr. Yocco’s passion for education is deeply rooted in her commitment to integrating science with faith-based learning. She is married to Nic and they are the proud parents of three children: AnaLu, Luca, and Tori. Her dedication to Christian education drives her mission to empower students by nurturing their curiosity and academic growth through both scientific exploration and faith.
The 7th graders did a fantastic job on their retreats last week. Because our grade levels have become so big, we have had the opportunity to break up these trips by gender. Retreats have become amazing experiences for our kids to become much stronger spiritually and bond with their classmates and teachers. When polling our graduates, many of them state that the retreats are some of their fondest memories of middle school. The feedback from our kids and teachers were that these days were really organized and that the scholars really took a lot out of each session. Our 6th graders will go on their retreats later this February. Great job 7th graders!
Mr. Block was our keynote speaker for our Wednesday chapel. His devotion was on the severity of racism and that there is never any excuse for any types of these acts. At Aug Prep, this type of behavior is never permitted and we expect our school to continue to be a safe place for all of us to learn. We strive to always build up and never tear down. His Scripture foundation came from Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”.
Our first semester breakfast celebration will take place on Friday February 20th from 8:00-9:15 in the gym. The awards that will be presented will include High Honor Roll, Honor Roll, Core Virtues, Attendance and Specialist Awards. We would love to have you come to school and celebrate your child with us. If your scholar is receiving an award, you should have been contacted so that you can make arrangements as needed.
Next week will be a short week for us with your scholar. We have Monday and Tuesday, that are planned teacher days off and on Wednesday we will have professional development. We look forward to seeing your scholar on Thursday February 19th. These days will be great for our kids and staff to reset after a very busy January and beginning of February. Please enjoy this time with your scholar and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the building on Thursday the 19th.

Los estudiantes de séptimo grado hicieron un trabajo fantástico en sus retiros la semana pasada. Debido a que nuestros niveles de grado han crecido tanto, hemos tenido la oportunidad de dividir estos viajes por género. Los retiros se han convertido en experiencias increíbles para que nuestros estudiantes fortalezcan su vida espiritual y creen lazos más fuertes con sus compañeros y maestro
Muchos de nuestros exalumnos expresan que los retiros son de los momentos más memorables de su etapa en la escuela intermedia. Tanto estudiantes como maestros compartieron que las jornadas estuvieron muy bien estructuradas y que cada sesión dejó enseñanzas significativas. Los estudiantes de sexto grado participarán en sus retiros más adelante en febrero. ¡Felicidades, séptimo grado!
El Sr. Block fue nuestro orador principal en la capilla del miércoles. Su devocional trató sobre la gravedad del racismo y enfatizó que nunca hay excusa para este tipo de actos. En Aug Prep, este comportamiento no está permitido bajo ninguna circunstancia y esperamos que nuestra escuela continúe siendo un lugar seguro para que todos podamos aprender. Nos esforzamos siempre por edificar y nunca por destruir. Su fundamento bíblico estuvo basado en Efesios 2:10: “Porque somos hechura de Dios, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviésemos en ellas”.
Nuestra celebración de premios y desayuno del primer semestre se llevará a cabo el viernes 20 de febrero de 8:00 a 9:15 a.m. en el gimnasio. Los premios que se entregarán incluirán Alto Honor, Cuadro de Honor, Virtudes Fundamentales, Asistencia y Premios de Especialistas. Nos encantaría que puedan acompañarnos en la escuela para celebrar a su hijo(a). Si su estudiante recibirá un reconocimiento, usted ya debió haber sido contactado para que pueda hacer los arreglos necesarios.
La próxima semana será una semana corta para nosotros con su estudiante.
El lunes y martes son días libres planificados para los maestros, y el miércoles tendremos desarrollo profesional. Esperamos ver a su estudiante el jueves 19 de febrero.
Estos días serán una excelente oportunidad para que nuestros estudiantes y el personal puedan recargar energías después de un mes de enero y un inicio de febrero muy ocupados. Por favor, disfruten este tiempo con su hijo(a), y esperamos darles la bienvenida a todos nuevamente en el edificio el jueves 19.
